• RBT preferred or must complete a BACB-approved RBT course and maintain registration.
• Physical ability to lift/move approximately 50 lbs.

The hospital is seeking a Mental Health Tech/CNA (3P - 11:30P). This role involves providing direct care to adolescent patients with psychiatric and substance abuse disorders, ensuring their safety and well-being. MHTs are primarily responsible for maintaining patient safety on the unit.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient monitoring and 15-minute checks
• Assist nursing staff on the unit
• Ensure patient safety and well-being
• Apply knowledge of risk and safety precautions
• Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and physicians
• React calmly and effectively in emergency situations

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s in psychology or related field preferred
• At least two (2) years’ experience as MHT or RBT in a psychiatric setting with children and adolescents
• RBT preferred or must complete a BACB-approved RBT course and maintain registration
• Knowledge of behavior management and autism spectrum disorder
• Effective communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Physical ability to lift/move approximately 50 lbs., assume various postures, and participate in restraint procedures; annual Handle With Care training required
