Job summary

Michiana Behavioral Health in Plymouth, Indiana, is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the day shift (6:00 am – 2:30 pm). You will be part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision and role modeling to our patients in a therapeutic setting.

Qualifications include a high school graduate or equivalent; college degree a plus; experience with children and adolescents is a plus; willing to train; 40 hours per week; rotating weekends; overtime possible.

• Willing to train the right individual that has a passion for children, adolescents, and adults with mental health and addiction disorders.
• Experience working with children and adolescents a plus.
• Hours: 40 hours/week. Day shift (6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) Must be able to work rotating weekends.
• May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Orient patient to unit and program.
• Carry out teaching activities identified in the treatment plan under the supervision of the nurse in charge.
• Provide continuous patient care and assist patients in all areas.
• Establish and maintain therapeutic boundaries complying with established training program.
• Demonstrate responsibility for observation of patients at all times.
• Assist patient with activities of daily living.
• Practice universal precautions and environment safety guidelines.
