Job summary

Swedish Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Technician to support patient care on multiple shifts across our campus. The role requires strong de-escalation and behavior management skills, a high school diploma, and CPR certification. CPI certification within 90 days of hire is expected.

The position offers diverse responsibilities from hygiene to procedures, with opportunities for growth and a benefits package. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to demonstrate de-escalation and behavior management techniques.
• Valid driver's license required if duties are off-site; auto-liability coverage may be requested.
• Experience in hospital or customer service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and set up meal trays; assist with nutritional intake and document intake.
• Assist with activities of daily living under nurse supervision; assist geriatrics and patients with special needs as needed.
• Follow plan of care considering patient age-specific needs and infection control standards.
• Perform Unit Specialist duties and maintain patient safety with one-to-one supervision; assist with patient transport as needed.
• Communicate patient status with RN and report changes promptly.
