Job summary

Everwell Port St. Lucie Hospital is seeking compassionate Mental Health Technicians to support patients in behavioral health programs. As part of the treatment team, the MHT provides direct patient care, ensures patient safety, and supports daily living activities.

You will assist with therapeutic programming, monitor vital signs, and collaborate with nurses and therapists. A HS diploma, valid Florida driver's license, and CPR certification are required; prior psychiatric or healthcare

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Additional behavioral health or psychology coursework preferred.
• Current Florida Driver’s License required.
• Current CPR Certification required.
• Previous psychiatric, healthcare, or nursing home experience preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and crisis management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient safety and observe patient behaviors.

• Utilize verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
