Job summary

Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center is seeking a Mental Health Technician for our Behavioral Health unit in Jasper, Indiana. The role supports nursing staff with patient care activities in the evening to night shifts, 36 hours per week, with a rotating weekend/holiday plan.

Responsibilities include performing routine duties, interacting with patients professionally, and applying knowledge of developmental needs of the behavioral health population.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in psychology or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in a health care facility/psychiatric setting preferred.

Job Overview:

The Mental Health Technician assists as directed by nursing staff or other professional caregivers by performing supportive and complementary tasks in patient care activities under direct supervision and in conjunction with the other team members. Performs routine department duties. Interacts with patients in a supportive and professional manner. Demonstrates knowledge of developmental needs of patient population specific to the Behavioral Health Services Department.
