Job summary

Valle Vista Health System is hiring Mental Health Technicians for the Adolescent unit. This full-time role offers 40 hours per week, full benefits, and an evening schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

You will provide direct care, supervise residents, and support safety and hygiene skills while modeling positive problem-solving and healthy relationships. You will transport residents to appointments, assist with activities, and follow ANA standards and facility policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field preferred.
• Six months to one year of experience working with a behavioral health in-patient population preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and intervening with residents for safety.
• Assure residents are kept safe and learn self-help skills.
• Assist in providing recreational and therapeutic activities and transport residents to appointments.
• Perform duties in accordance with ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care and facility policies.

Position Summary

Mental Health Technicians provide direct care and supervision for residents, assure residents are kept safe, learn and practice appropriate hygiene and self-help skills, and are aware of rules and expectations. Act as a role model for residents, demonstrating effective problem solving and decision‑making skills. Assist in providing recreational and therapeutic activities for the residents, transporting residents to and from medical appointments, and assuring scheduled programming is carried out. Perform duties as assigned in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards. Mental Health Technicians report to the Unit Coordinator under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer.

Requirements
