Position: Mental Health Technician

Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts

As a Mental Health Technician at MiraVista, you will be a vital part of our multidisciplinary treatment team. You will provide direct care and support to patients and their families, making impactful decisions that benefit the community. We are committed to caring for our staff as they care for our patients.

Your responsibilities include:

1. Maintaining a safe therapeutic environment on inpatient psychiatric units.
2. Conducting safety checks and monitoring patients.
3. Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs).
4. De-escalating acute situations and providing supportive interactions.
5. Observing and documenting patient progress.
6. Developing therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
7. Supervising patient activities for safety.
8. Processing patient belongings during admissions.
9. Completing documentation in the EMR system.
10. Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
11. Floating to all units as needed.

Successful candidates will have:

• High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree in psychology or human services preferred.
• Previous experience as PCT/PCA, CNA, or Medical Assistant required.
• Bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience.
• Effective communication skills and ability to build therapeutic relationships.
• Experience in psychiatric or substance inpatient care, restraint reduction, de-escalation, and crisis intervention is preferred.
