Job summary

Austin Oaks Hospital is seeking Mental Health Technicians for weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday, 7a–11p) to provide direct patient care under supervision. The role supports a safe, therapeutic milieu and assists with activities of daily living for adults and adolescents.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or Equivalent and CPR Certification. Experience in psychiatric settings is preferred, with opportunities for professional growth within the hospital and its affiliates.

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Experience: One year psychiatric experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: CPR Certification.
• Human behavior and crisis management skills including therapeutic relationships, age-appropriate development, limit setting, and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of the charge nurse.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu for patients.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living as needed.
• Demonstrate flexibility to rotate to units serving varied populations (adults and adolescents).

Position Summary

Mental Health Technicians Weekends: Saturday and Sunday 7a-11p, to provide direct patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse. The Mental Health Technician must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including adults as well as adolescents.
