Austin Oaks Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, located in South Austin, TX, seeks Mental Health Technicians for the Night shift (11pm–7am) to provide direct patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse.

The role involves maintaining a safe, therapeutic milieu and assisting with activities of daily living, with flexibility for reassignment to varied units including male and dually diagnosed adults. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• One year psychiatric experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience with therapeutic relationships, age-specific growth, crisis and behavior management preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Mental Health Technicians Nights (11p-7a), to provide direct patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse. Responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention and assistance with activities of daily living. The Mental Health Technician must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including male adults as well as dually diagnosed adults.
