We are hiring a Mental Health Tech II, 3N, Full Time 7a-7p at Peace - Louisville.

Shift: Days 7A - 7P (United States of America)

Job Summary

The Mental Health Technician II provides delegated components of nursing care to patients, including monitoring, specimen collection, psycho-education, assistance with activities of daily living, and behavior management, in accordance with physician orders and established nursing policies and procedures. Care is based on defined standards of patient care and practice.

Essential Functions
  • Observe and monitor patient’s status according to standards, policies, and procedures, including vital signs, weight, intake/output, dietary intake, rounds sheets, behavioral logs, and admission checklists. Report patient complaints or concerns promptly.
  • Provide verbal and written updates to nursing staff through ongoing reporting and end-of-shift reports to help prioritize patient needs and care.
  • Deliver skilled patient care such as orientation, transportation, de-escalation, teaching coping skills, conflict resolution, problem solving, specimen collection, assistance with activities of daily living, admission/discharge procedures, response to codes, and SCM techniques.
  • Evaluate patient and family responses to interventions and report changes in condition to the nurse.
  • Lead patient psycho-educational groups and other care activities aligned with Personal Intervention Plans used on the unit.
Shift Requirements

Shift Length: 8 or 12 hours

Shifts per Week: 3-5 depending on shift length

Overtime: Infrequently required

Other Responsibilities
  • Maintain professional development, certifications, CEUs, and education.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
  • Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security regulations to maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following education and experience combinations:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent plus 2 years of social service experience, including 1 year in direct patient care.
  • 60+ college credits in a social services field plus 1-year direct patient care experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a social services field, with preferred but not required direct patient care experience.
