Job summary

Southeast Behavioral Hospital, part of Universal Health Services (UHS), is seeking a Mental Health Technician to support patient care on a day shift with rotating weekends. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide continuous supervision, interaction and role modeling for patients across age groups under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Required education includes a high school diploma (CNA preferred), two years in psychiatric care, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; CNA preferred.
• Experience: 2 years in psychiatric patient care preferred.
• Licensure: Valid driver's license in the applicable state.
• Training: Complete MAB Training, Handle with Care, CPR; 75 hours classroom, 100 hours practicum.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient care, supervision and interaction as part of the treatment team.
• Role model and support patients ranging from adolescents to geriatrics under RN direction.

Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescents through geriatrics. All MHT’s work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Degree or equivalent required; Certified Nursing Assistant preferred

Experience: Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion Management Aggressive Behavior Training, Handle with Care, Service Excellence Training and CPR certification required. MHT’s must successfully complete 75 hours of classroom/computer based instruction and 100 hours of supervised clinical practicum. MHT’s may be required to work weekends, overtime and have flexible hours.
