Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Mental Health Tech to support psychiatric patients, under an RN, in a fast-paced environment. You will help maintain a safe, therapeutic setting, assist with daily living tasks, and participate in crisis intervention as needed.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, teamwork with nurses, and adherence to hospital policies. A high school diploma and CPR certification are required, with EMT/Medical Assistant training preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required (AHA Healthcare Providers).
• Preferred EMT/Medical Assistant or Clinical Assistant training.
• Inpatient or emergency psychiatry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients.
• Assist in crisis intervention and patient care under RN supervision.
• Perform vital signs, phlebotomy, and basic nursing tasks as directed.
• Transport patients and assist with admissions/discharges and safety procedures.
• Maintain documentation and support other care team members.
