Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville is hiring a Mental Health Tech to assist in patient care for psychiatric patients under RN supervision. You will help create a safe, therapeutic environment, assist with crisis intervention, and support daily activities and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

The role requires CPR certification and a high school diploma or GED, with preferred completion of MA/EMT training and related experience in inpatient or emergency psychiatry.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED/equivalent (required).
• Completion of Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT program (preferred).
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients.
• Assist with crisis intervention and behavior management as directed.
• Perform vital signs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing as needed.
• Transport patients and assist with exams, admissions and discharges.
• Support nursing staff and participate in shift-based activities.
