Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking qualified nursing support staff to provide delegated care to adult and geriatric patients. The role operates under physician and clinical guidelines to deliver efficient, individualized care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and CPI training within one month. CNA preferred. The team values teamwork, safety, and patient-centered communication across shifts.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).

Responsibilities

• Provides and ensures physical needs are met for all patients by assisting with activities of daily living (ADL).
• Conducts and participates in therapeutic milieu activities for patients under supervision.
• Participates as a team member in improving quality care standards for the unit.
• Complies with JCAHO National Patient Safety Goals.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population and communication styles.
• Performs other related duties as required.
