Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking a compassionate nursing assistant to provide delegated care to adult and geriatric patients under the supervision of the clinical team.

You will assist with activities of daily living, participate in therapeutic milieu activities, and help uphold patient safety and quality care standards in a fast-paced hospital setting. A CNA certification is preferred and CPI training will be completed within the first month.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• CPI training within first month of employment.
• CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides and ensures physical needs are met for patients by assisting with ADLs (oral care, meals, etc).
• Conducts and participates in therapeutic milieu activities under clinical staff guidance.
• Participates as a team member in quality care improvements for the unit.
• Complies with JCAHO National Patient Safety Goals.
