Job summary

Salt Lake Behavioral Health seeks a compassionate Mental/Behavioral Health Technician to join our team. The role provides direct patient care, supervision, and therapeutic support as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team, under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

Shift options include nights and days, with a pay range of $18.00–$24.00 per hour plus night/weekend differentials. We offer competitive compensation, PTO, a 401(k) plan, and career development opportunities within UHS.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Degree in social work, recreational therapy or related discipline preferred.
• One year of related psychiatric care experience preferred.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license; CPR and Handle With Care certification required.
• May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, supervision, and therapeutic support as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Work under the direction of the Registered Nurse to maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.
• Support patient engagement, daily functioning, and treatment plan goals.
• The Mental/Behavioral Health Technician assists in maintaining a safe, structured environment and works with the care team to support treatment goals.

Salt Lake Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate team player for our Mental/Behavioral Health Technician

Shift: Nights 6pm-6am, Days 6am-6pm

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour dependent on education and experience.

Shift Differential: $3.00 - $4.00 on top of hourly rate for nights and weekends

Qualifications

Education: High School Degree or equivalent required. Certified Nursing Assistant preferred; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.

Experience: One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred, NOT required.

Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state if transporting patients. Must attend in house CPR and Handle With Care certification.

Additional Requirements: May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
