Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking a Mental Health Specialist (MHS I) to provide person-centered support to individuals with behavioral and mental health needs. This role emphasizes safety, skill-building, and positive engagement within residential and community settings.

You will document services and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to monitor changes and adjust plans. The position includes training, travel as needed, and potential growth opportunities within the organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience providing mental or behavioral health services.
• Must be at least 18 years old; some programs require 21+.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with behavioral and mental health needs using person-centered approaches.
• Follow behavior support and treatment plans, crisis prevention, de-escalation, and restraints as trained.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment and assist with daily living skills, transportation, and community engagement.
• Document services and observations using electronic systems (T-logs, Therap, health tracking).
• Monitor behavior changes and communicate with supervisors during crises.
