Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking a specialized mental health agent to supervise a caseload primarily composed of individuals living with a mental illness. You will maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and advocate for supervisees to achieve stability.

You will stay informed on all mental health supervision areas, programs, policies, and protocols, and participate in trainings to maintain Mental Health Certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses and experience in probation and parole work.
• An associate’s degree and two years of military or certified law enforcement experience may be substituted.
• A high school diploma and four years of military or certified law enforcement experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a caseload of individuals living with mental illness.
• Maintain a professional communication network with internal and external stakeholders.
• Advocate on behalf of supervisees to seek/maintain stability.
• Maintain knowledge of mental health supervision, programs, policies and protocols; participate in trainings and maintain certification requirements.
