Job summary

Sauk County is seeking a Human Services Manager for the Mental Health & Recovery Services unit within the Human Services Department. The role provides administrative, quality, and clinical oversight for MHRS programs and supports DHS compliance and grant reporting.

Standard hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with possible additional hours. Requires a Master’s degree and 5 years post-licensure experience, plus relevant licenses. Supervisory credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in a related field.
• 5 years post-licensure experience required.
• Licensed as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Professional Counselor.
• Preferred: 2 years of supervisory experience; Independent Clinical Supervisor Credential.

Responsibilities

• Interview, train, monitor, evaluate, promote, discipline unit employees, and approve absences and leave time.
• Ensure funding, service, audit, and reporting obligations per state statutes and grant requirements; ensure DHS standards compliance.
• Assist Director in developing the unit annual budget.
• Provide staff training on roles, statutes, licensing, and privacy rules for MH/SA records.
• Monitor schedules, caseloads, and program compliance; oversee documentation and quality initiatives.
• Provide group and individual supervision; consult in emergencies.
• Screen referrals and determine level of care; monitor progress and discharge planning.
• Oversee contracts; evaluate new services and funding opportunities.
• Collaborate with local and state stakeholders to ensure service delivery.
