New Alternatives, Inc. in Chula Vista, CA is seeking a Mental Health Quality Assurance Auditor to monitor medical record compliance and provide clinical feedback. You will train staff on documentation standards and work with program directors to improve practice.

The role requires active engagement with HIPAA, False Claims Act and Medi-Cal/CalAIM guidelines; licensing status will influence compensation, with established ranges for licensed or unlicensed professionals.

Qualifications

• Registered or licensed with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in LMFT, LCSW, LPCC or AMFT, ASW, APCC, RN
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Evaluates medical records for accurate and complete documentation of medical necessity, treatment modalities and level of care appropriateness
• Provides feedback regarding discrepancies in documentation to clinical and administrative staff
• Provides staff training on HIPAA regulations, False Claims Act, Medi-Cal/CalAIM documentation standards
• Informs clinical and medical staff of procedural changes within the system of care
• Assists in development and update of Policies and Procedures
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with clinical and administrative staff
• Reviews monthly productivity reports
• Attends County and Community Meetings
• Reports to Quality Assurance Director
