Job summary

Samuel Merritt University in Foster City, CA, seeks a Regular Faculty member for the Medical/Surgical/Multi-Specialty track in the College of Nursing. The appointment combines teaching, scholarship and service, with a 12-month annual schedule and an onsite work arrangement at the Foster City/San Mateo campus.

Earned Master’s in nursing is required; a doctoral degree is preferred. California RN license or eligibility; teaching experience with diverse learners is desired.

Qualifications

• Earned Master’s in nursing required.
• Doctorate in nursing or related field preferred.
• Unencumbered California registered nurse license or eligible for licensure in California.
• Teaching experience with diverse students at the baccalaureate or higher degree level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaching in the ELMSN program with a focus on Mental Health.
• Confer with students to develop learning plans and monitor progress.
• Prepare and review examinations, papers, and projects; supervise independent study.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure integrity of courses and curriculum across programs.
• Supervise clinical rotations and internship/preceptorships as needed.
