Job summary

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) is seeking a licensed nurse (LVN/LPT or RN) to provide direct medical care and medication management to participants with physical and mental health needs.

This on-site role requires CA licensure, CPR/AED certification, and flexibility for evenings or weekends; there are on-call duties. MHALA offers a 35-hour workweek and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Licensed professional in CA: LVN, LPT, or RN.
• CPR/AED certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical health care services to members based on medical needs, including collecting routine health information (blood pressure, weight/BMI, glucose).
• Develop health care plans and interventions addressing chronic or acute health concerns with the team.
• Educate members on health promotion, medications, and disease management; teach self-care skills.
• Monitor health care concerns and medication compliance; inform treating physicians and case management as needed.
• Administer medications and injections; monitor for adverse effects and contraindications; document accordingly.
• Maintain all records for compliance and funding sources; input data into EHR or databases.
• Communicate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and other providers to address complex needs.
