Job summary

Raleigh Oaks Behavioral Health is seeking an Intake RN to manage patient admissions and intake assessments on site. You will collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to determine medical necessity and recommended level of care, while handling insurance verifications and pre-certifications as needed.

The ideal candidate has an accredited nursing degree, RN license, and experience in mental health admissions. CPR and de-escalation training are required, with on-site orientation provided.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Experience in mental health admissions is preferred.
• Experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment and referral processes.
• CPR and de-escalation training is required (or provided on hire).
• Knowledge of DSM-V and treatment planning is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates admissions and assessment processes for incoming patients.
• Performs initial evaluation and documents patient symptoms, functioning and needs.
• Collaborates with clinical staff to ensure appropriate admissions and level of care.
• Handles insurance verification, pre-certifications, and call-center duties during peak times.
• Ensures proper documentation and coordination of care with physicians and treatment teams.
