Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers seeks a Mental Health Group Technician for Greensville Correctional Center. The role focuses on psycho-educational programming, recreational activities, and other mental health & wellness services within a major adult facility in Virginia.

The position requires data entry, documentation in health records, and collaboration with the Mental Health team to implement programming daily. Eligible QMHP-T status is noted; strong Microsoft Office skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and warning signs.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing and proficient in documentation.
• Ability to participate in treatment team meetings and support team goals with group programs.

Responsibilities

• Provides group support services in the Mental Health & Wellness Department at a correctional center.
• Enters data into CORIS and databases to track group programming and attendance.
• Completes documentation in inmate health records by end of day.
• Participates in team meetings and implements programming determined by team and supervisor.
• Reports critical mental health needs to clinicians and staff as needed.
• May participate in special projects or programs.
