Job summary

VA Central California Health Care System in Fresno seeks a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) to deliver mental health services within the SUDP and related programs. The role includes conducting assessments, creating treatment plans, and offering individual and group therapy.

Responsibilities include collaboration with Behavioral Health teams, crisis intervention, and ensuring smooth transitions to appropriate care across settings.

Qualifications

• Must have a Master’s or doctoral degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or CACREP-accredited program.
• Must hold a full, current, unrestricted license to independently practice as an LPMHC.
• Ability to engage in intake, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and continuity of care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health assessments and develop treatment plans; provide counseling to individuals and groups.
• Collaborate with Primary Care Mental Health Integration and Behavioral Health Providers to determine eligibility and level of care for Veterans.
• Provide crisis intervention and stabilization as needed; participate in program evaluation and development.
