Job summary

Golden Legacy Care Center is seeking a Counselor for an inpatient locked psychiatric program in Los Angeles. Counselors work in teams to provide treatment programming and daily care for court-committed forensic residents.

The role requires at least a high school diploma with 1 year of mental health or related care experience; a BA is preferred. This is a full-time position with COVID-19 precautions in place.

Qualifications

• HS diploma with at least 1 year of mental health or related care experience.
• BA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in group work and activities for assigned residents.
• Documents weekly, monthly, and PRN notes in resident records.
• Records group attendance for each participant in caseload.
• Co-facilitates group counseling per program schedule.
• Contributes to weekly rounds, quarterly meetings, and discharge planning.
• Ensures ADLs are completed and unit functions are carried out.
• Attends all weekly staff meetings and in-service trainings.
• Performs daily duties and monitors patient safety.
• Assists with non-violent crisis management.
• Executes interventions per patient care plan.
• Treats patients with dignity and respect.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Attends all weekly mandatory staff and in-service meetings.
• Performs assigned daily duties.
• Monitors patient safety.
• Assists with non-violent crisis management.
• Carries out interventions specified on the patient care plan.
• Treats all patients with dignity and respect.
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisor, program director, and administrator.
