Job summary

Tallis in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Counselor for an inpatient locked psychiatric program. You will work in teams to provide treatment programming and daily care to court-committed forensic residents.

Responsibilities include assisting in group work, maintaining documentation, ensuring attendance, co-facilitating group counseling, and contributing to discharge planning according to the patient care plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with at least 1 year of experience in mental health or related care.
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in group work and activities for assigned residents.
• Provides weekly, monthly, and PRN documentation in resident record.
• Assures and documents group attendance for each participant for assigned caseload.
• Co-facilitates and assists in group counseling per program schedule.
• Provides input in weekly rounds, quarterly meetings, and discharge planning.
• Assures patients ADL's are complete and carrying out general unit functions.
• Attends all weekly mandatory staff and in-service meetings.
• Performs assigned daily duties.
• Monitors patient safety.
• Assists with non-violent crisis management.
• Carries out interventions specified on the patient care plan.
• Treats all patients with dignity and respect.
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisor, program director, and administrator.
