Mental Health Clinician Responsibilities:

The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing mental health counseling, education, and support to individuals, families, and the community, and for promoting healthy lifestyles and healthy choices. Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the clinician will provide services including assessment, group, individual, and family sessions, and other modalities to clients and their families according to demonstrated competence.

Salary and Hours:

• Salary: $65,000 - $75,000
• Hours: Day Shift. Evening hours available with pay differential.

Clinician Duties:

• Facilitating individual, group, and psychoeducational sessions with clients and/or family members, in accordance with state regulations and Joint Commission standards.
• Assessing clients using psychometric screeners or other evidence-based assessment tools (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7) and diagnosing clients for substance use and/or mental health disorders using the most updated DSM.
• Collaborating with clients to develop individualized, client-centered, and recovery-oriented treatment plans with goals and measurable objectives.
• Documenting all counseling, education services, assessments, referrals, and follow-up in the client's medical record, including electronic records, with signatures and dates.
• Reviewing clients throughout the treatment episode to determine the need for continued services or discharge/transfer, according to ASAM criteria.
• Developing discharge/transfer plans to ensure successful movement to appropriate levels of care.
• Participating as a member of a multidisciplinary team for assigned clients.
• Providing active case consultation.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, substance use, or other human services field.
• At least 1 year of experience in substance use and/or mental health treatment; working toward clinical licensure (e.g., LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) preferred.
• Experience with ASAM and LOCUS criteria and knowledge.
• Experience with startup organizations is preferred.
