Qualifications

  • Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college-level coursework (12 credits) in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.
  • Bachelor's degree with 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 credits in related social sciences and one year of paraprofessional case management experience.
  • Applicants may be considered as meeting educational requirements within two months of graduating with qualifying degree/credits.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in obtaining mental health services.
  • Participate in supervised training to learn how to deliver services as a mental health delegate.
  • Follow state and local laws, policies, and procedures related to behavioral health services.
  • Coordinate with authorities, agencies, and partners to support strong outcomes for clients and families.
  • Use basic understanding of behavioral health offices to guide services for clients.

Education

Two years of college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice or related social sciences
Bachelor's degree with 12 college credits in related social sciences
Equivalent combination including 12 credits and one year of paraprofessional case management
