Job summary

Universal Health Services’ Summit Oaks Hospital seeks a dedicated Mental Health Associate (MHA) to support patients across adult, child and adolescent units, including detox and rehab. You will join the treatment team, provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, role modeling and monitoring.

This full-time day-shift role (three 12-hour days, with rotating weekends) involves taking vital signs, leading educational groups and responding to codes.

Qualifications

• B.S. in health related field with one year of psychiatric experience, preferable in an inpatient setting; or two years of experience in a psychiatric setting with evidence of participation in continuing education related to mental health preferred.
• Psychiatric inpatient experience for Adults, Adolescents and Dual populations preferred.
• Must maintain CPR and First Aid, Verbal De-escalation and Handle with Care Certifications which will be provided by the Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, role modeling, and monitoring patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics, depending on the nursing unit assigned.
• Takes vital signs, conducts educational groups and responds to codes.
