Job summary

Northeast Health Services, a member of Transformations Care Network, is seeking a Prescriber Medical Administrative Assistant (Medical Assistant) to support providers and patients in a fast-paced mental health setting.

You will handle front-office duties, telehealth support, medication prior authorizations, and EMR documentation while ensuring HIPAA compliance and excellent customer service. This on-site role offers competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized and have strong time management.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a mental health setting.
• Professional appearance and demeanor; maintain patient confidentiality.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
• CPR certification or willingness to become certified within 6 months.
• Experience as a Medical Assistant or in a medical office/call center preferred.
• Experience verifying insurance and scheduling for multiple providers preferred.
• HIPAA familiarity preferred; knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls professionally and manage voicemails in a timely manner.
• Guide patients through telehealth tech and portal usage.
• Process medication prior authorizations.
• Support providers with administrative duties and paperwork.
• Answer general questions about the practice and services.
• Coordinate care between patients and providers.
• Manage patient scheduling and collect financial information.
• Document in EMR accurately and timely.
• Provide administrative support and assist with compliance tasks.
• Train new team members as needed.
• Follow on-site medication handling processes.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
