Job summary

Clark Construction in McLean, VA is seeking a Low-Code Application Developer to own and modernize mission-critical Mendix-based apps. This onsite role will troubleshoot, extend, and optimize legacy systems while collaborating with IT leadership and business stakeholders.

You should have a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years building and supporting custom software, with strong SQL, REST APIs, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and experience with low-code platforms (Mendix or PowerApps).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience developing and supporting custom software applications.
• Solid experience with SQL querying.
• Experience designing APIs or service-based integrations.
• Experience working with existing/legacy systems.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for web applications.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical owner for Mendix-based web applications.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance legacy applications for stability and performance.
• Analyze and reverse-engineer systems with limited documentation.
• Design improvements to architecture, data, and code structure for long-term maintainability.
• Build RESTful APIs or service layers for integration with middleware.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate workflows into technical solutions.
• Document system behavior and dependencies for long-term support.
• Provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on.
