Job summary

Clark Construction seeks a Low-Code Application Developer to own and modernize critical enterprise applications built on Mendix. This onsite role is based in McLean, VA, and involves collaboration with IT leadership and stakeholders to balance immediate support with long-term upgrades.

You will maintain legacy systems, design APIs, and build REST services to enable enterprise integrations, while improving architecture and database design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience developing and supporting custom software applications.
• Solid experience with SQL querying.
• Experience designing APIs or service-based integrations.
• Experience working with existing / legacy (brownfield) systems.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for web applications.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex codebases.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical owner for Mendix-based web applications.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance legacy applications for stability and performance.
• Analyze and reverse-engineer existing systems to understand business logic and integrations.
• Design improvements to architecture, code structure, and database design.
• Build RESTful APIs or service layers for enterprise integrations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate workflows into solutions.
• Document system behavior, architecture, and dependencies for supportability.
• Provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on in development.
