Job summary

San Diego State University is seeking a part-time Assistant Coach for the Men's Club Soccer team. You will assist the Head Coach in directing practices 2-3 times per week, develop practice plans, and help advance team skills while ensuring safety and adherence to university policies.

The role offers 8–12 hours per week with evening and weekend availability. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree preferred and CPR/First Aid certifications, plus a valid CA driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience: Proficient knowledge of Aztec Recreation programs and policies; knowledge of Aztec Recreation facilities.
• Licenses: American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED certifications required; California Driver's License and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Direct practices 2-3 times a week and assist Head Coach in developing practice plans to enhance team skill performance.
• Attend all team events including practice, games, and tournaments; monitor scheduling conflicts and communicate with the leadership.
• Enforce rules and policies as outlined in the Sport Club Handbook and SDSU policies; supervise practices, travel, and safety.
• Assist with recruitment goals and coordination of travel arrangements, equipment maintenance, and fundraising efforts.
• Work up to 25 hours per week with evening and weekend availability.
