Job summary

Kennedy-King College in Chicago is seeking an experienced Assistant Coach for men's basketball to support the head coach, mentor student-athletes, and promote an Academic-First agenda. Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60+ college credits required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Minimum two years of coaching and/or collegiate playing experience.
• Familiarity with NJCAA rules and regulations a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to mentor diverse student-athletes.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and travel for practices and games.
• Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach in instruction, development, and evaluation of student athletes.
• Demonstrate sport-specific skills during practices and training sessions.
• Evaluate athletes' performance and provide feedback to improve performance.
• Assist with recruitment of student athletes.
• Advise students on athletic performance, academics, and progress, monitoring attendance.
• Assist with equipment, uniforms, travel arrangements, and purchasing guidelines.
• Coach in league, conference and tournament play.
• Adhere to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
