Job summary

nEye.ai is seeking an experienced MEMS Process Engineer to define and improve Si photonics MEMS technology powering our optical switches. The role involves participating in regular process meetings and shaping wafer fabrication strategies at our Emeryville site and UC Berkeley laboratory collaboration.

You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple streams, and deepen your technical expertise in MEMS/photonic fabrication while working with foundries and partners.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in EE, materials science, applied physics, or related field.
• Experience with Si photonics or MEMS technologies.
• 3+ years hands-on microfabrication experience.
• Experience with failure analysis, metrology, and process development.
• Experience with mask design, thin film deposition and characterization, and wet/dry etching.
• Experience with developing and scaling processes from inception to prototyping and production.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with team to translate chip design and product system requirements into device designs and fabrication methodologies.
• Developing and improving fabrication methodologies and exploring materials to advance optical switch technology.
• Partnering with external foundries and vendors to develop fabrication methods and procedures.
• Collaborating with external foundries to establish and refine fabrication processes.
• Running wafers in the lab and performing analysis on process steps.
• Designing and implementing process short loops.
• Advise and assist team members to solve fabrication-related issues.
