Job summary

Sweeping Corporation of America is hiring a Packaging Process Engineer to design and validate MEMS packaging processes, leading continuous improvements in a high-volume manufacturing setting in Fremont, CA.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply Lean/Six Sigma, and drive yield and efficiency through tooling, process development, and robust documentation. This role involves a hands-on cleanroom environment and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum three years of hands-on engineering in high-volume manufacturing (semiconductor/MEMS/sensor).
• Expertise in IC/MEMS packaging: wire bonding, die attach, encapsulation, materials selection, micro-packaging equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of MEMS sensor assembly processes for performance, quality and manufacturability.
• Design, develop, validate MEMS assembly processes for production and prototype builds (wire bonding, die attach, encapsulation).
• Drive yield and efficiency improvements using Lean and Six Sigma.
• Develop and implement advanced tooling, fixtures, and equipment for scalable manufacturing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create flexible assembly/test platforms for future lines.
• Perform hands-on work in a Class 1000 cleanroom (~10% of time).
• Support global operations with occasional domestic and international travel.
