Job summary

Parsec, LLC is seeking a Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic in Memphis, TN to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repair on heavy vehicles. You will follow inspection checklists, read diagnostics, and test drive vehicles.

Candidates should have experience with hydraulic systems, electronic controls, and diesel engines, plus a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment checks, benefits include insurance, 401(k), paid weekly, PTO and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be minimum of 18 years of age.
• Open availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Experience with maintaining heavy equipment in construction, transportation, or intermodal.
• Mi-Jack or Taylor brand experience is a plus.
• Documents the repair according to reporting system, verbally and in writing.
• Performs light welding when required.
• Background check and drug screening completed.

Responsibilities

• Follow a checklist of inspection procedures.
• Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions (NO CDL REQUIRED).
• Read and interpret diagnostic test results from equipment.
• Raise trucks and heavy parts using jacks or hoists.
• Inspect brakes, steering, transmissions, engines and other parts.
• Perform routine maintenance like oil changes and lubrication.
• Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, attach components.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning components and electrical parts.

Summary: Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic will have previous working knowledge of hydraulic systems, electronic controls, electrical circuitry, schematics, and a basic knowledge of diesel engine repair.

Pay: $30 to $31 hourly (Depending on experience)

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Follow a checklist of inspection procedures
• Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions (NO CDL REQUIRED)

• Raise trucks, and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles
• Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts
• Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components
• Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Qualifications:

• Must be minimum of 18 years of age
• Open availability (24/7/365) available to work nights, weekends, and holidays that fall on your rotation.
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
• Valid Driver’s License
• Experience with maintaining heavy equipment in either the Construction, Transportation, or Intermodal Industry
• Mi-Jack or Taylor Manufacture Brand experience a plus.
• Documents the repair according to an established reporting system, verbally and in writing
• Performs light welding when required
• Other duties as assign
• Documented successful completion of lawful post-offer, pre-employment checks including criminal background check and drug screening.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent standing, walking, balancing while walking on elevated catwalks, bending, and grasping.
• Will walk up to three miles within a shift.
• Occasional sitting, kneeling, squatting, twisting, reaching, lifting and the ability to lift more than 50lbs.
