Job summary

Atria Senior Living’s Coterie brand in New York is hiring Memory Care Assistants to provide personal care and support for residents with dementia. You will follow the Memory Care Director's guidance, set up meals, assist with daily living activities, engage residents, and work across shifts; requires at least 1 year in dementia care and completion of specified training.

Fulfilling this role includes welcoming residents, supporting programming, and maintaining a safe, clean dining and living

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent
• At least 1 year experience providing care to individuals with dementia or cognitive impairment
• Must complete all Atria training programs
• Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Able to write simple correspondence
• Able to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings
• Able to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure
• Able to follow detailed written or oral instructions
• Willing to work various schedules and shifts
• Must be fully vaccinated with vaccination record on hire day

Responsibilities

• Attend to all care needs of Memory Care residents per their plan
• Set up tables and meals for Memory Care dining
• Serve meals and drinks; provide snacks daily
• Engage residents in daily activities and program participation
• Assist with housekeeping and light cleaning in common areas
• Record and communicate changes in resident needs to Memory Care Director
• Support residents with activities of daily living and mobility
• Promote resident independence and choices throughout the day
• Communicate with other departments as needs arise
• Possibility to transport residents by company vehicle if required
