Job summary

Strafford Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Missouri is seeking a Memory Care Unit Charge Nurse/Coordinator. You will supervise the Thrive program with Life Enrichment staff and collaborate with the Administrator to oversee the Courtyard community.

The role requires an LPN or RN license in Missouri, at least two years of dementia care experience with one year in supervision, strong communication and organizational skills, and a passion for seniors.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
• Licensed as an LPN or RN in Missouri.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure Thrive program is implemented daily by Life Enrichment staff and direct care team.
• Oversee the Courtyard community in coordination with the Administrator and Health Care Coordinator.
• Collaborate with Life Enrichment team to maintain a functional program for residents.

What Will You Do in This Role?

As a Memory Care Unit Charge Nurse/Coordinator,you will be in a supervisory position and are responsible for ensuring the Thrive program is implemented daily and facilitated by Life Enrichment Coordinators, Life Enrichment Assistants, and direct care team members. The Memory Care Unit Charge Nurse/Coordinator is also responsible for the general oversight of the Courtyard community in cooperation with the Administrator and Health Care Coordinator. As a Memory Care Unit Charge Nurse, you will work closely with the Life Enrichment team and direct care staff to ensure a functional and appropriate program.

• A fire and passion for working with seniors
• A flexible, fun, and energetic personality
• Must have a minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, with at least one year of supervisory experience
• Prior background in senior living, social work, recreational therapy, or nursing preferred
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills required
• Must be able to demonstrate good judgement, prioritization of duties, and effective problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer’s progression in older adults required
• Professional image in both appearance and behavior
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Actively licensed as an LPN or RN in Missouri
