Qualifications

• The Nurse supports and assists in providing a holistic, therapeutic, person-centered Memory Care Program on the Memory Care Unit.
• The Nurse will aim to achieve and maintain the highest quality of life for residents with dementia residing in or under the facility's care.

Responsibilities

• Commit to ongoing growth in Alzheimer’s dementia care.
• Complete at least 12 hours of continual education annually, including orientation training.
• Oversee Memory Care Aides and CNAs, including supervision of ADL care and non-scheduled activities.
• Know each resident’s background, disease, care needs, and preferences in detail.
• Use communication devices and resources to enhance resident communication.
• Provide a therapeutic, person-centered memory care activity program and non-pharmacological interventions.
• Encourage family involvement through volunteering and visitation.
• Maintain a clean, safe unit and document care appropriately.
• Develop and maintain symptom management tracking for residents as needed.
• Adhere to Memory Care policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations.
• Provide feedback to the Memory Care Director to monitor goals.
• Be flexible to adapt to changing resident needs.
• Provide emotional, caring support to residents, families, and the inter-disciplinary team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
