Memory Care Program Assistant (Finance)

Job Summary:

Assists the Clare Bridge Program Manager or Coordinator in leading and implementing a calendar of person-centered dementia-friendly programs that meet the specific needs of all residents within the dementia care community. In alignment with Brookdale's Resident and Family Engagement philosophy, helps provide person-centered programs that engage residents in meaningful dementia care activities, enhancing their quality of life. Recognizes individual abilities and needs, encouraging independence, and honoring residents' habits, routines, interests, and preferences in care and programming.

Essential Functions:

  1. Supports the implementation of person-centered programs tailored to individual resident needs and interests.
  2. Assists in leading and engaging residents across the 7 domains of well-being—purposeful, intellectual, social, spiritual, emotional, and physical—within a dementia-friendly environment, including sensory-focused small groups for residents unable to participate in large groups.
  3. Helps review residents' service plans and completes program documentation as per Brookdale standards and regulations.
  4. Ensures dementia care programs comply with state, federal, and other regulatory requirements, aligning with Brookdale's mission, policies, and standards.
  5. Provides guidance and resources to staff on the importance of programming and engagement to improve residents' quality of life.
  6. Coordinates and participates in community events such as family socials, marketing, open houses, and special occasions.
  7. Communicates positively with residents, families, and community professionals about the dementia care program and its benefits, including personal updates to families.
  8. Assists in achieving departmental quality improvement initiatives, including the Brookdale Excellence Standards Tool (BEST).
  9. Supports planning and scheduling of external programming events, which may include driving a community vehicle.
  10. Assists with volunteer programs, including training and supervision of volunteers.
  11. Performs personal care, housekeeping, and dietary duties as needed to maintain service quality in accordance with Clare Bridge Program standards.
