Job summary

Porter Hills Village Memory Care is seeking a Part-Time Medication Technician for 1st shift in Grand Rapids, MI. You will be responsible for passing medications, supporting daily health monitoring, and providing compassionate care to residents.

The role requires lifting up to 35 pounds, at least 1 year of med-passing experience, and familiarity with EMAR systems. Weekend shift premium applies; 19 hours per week with 6am-2:15pm shifts and weekend variation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 1 year of medication passing experience in a healthcare setting.
• Previous experience as a caregiver in a healthcare setting, preferably with seniors or in long‑term care.
• Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance.
• Previous working knowledge of Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) systems, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer Medications & Treatments – Pass medications and provide treatments safely according to care plans.
• Provide Hands‑On Care – Assist residents with personal care (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Support Mealtime – Help residents enjoy their meals and stay hydrated for overall health.
• Promote Mobility – Assist with turning, positioning, and safe transfers to keep residents moving safely.
• Perform Vital Checks – Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
• Maintain Comfort & Care – Keep residents’ rooms tidy, cozy, and stocked with essentials.
• Respond to Resident Needs – Answer call lights promptly and provide compassionate support.
• Monitor Resident Conditions – Report any changes to the leadership team immediately.
• Demonstrate Respect & Professionalism – Maintain confidentiality while delivering high‑quality care.
