Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Med-tech certificate required.
• Previous memory care/long-term care/assisted living experience preferred.
• Ability to provide compassionate, respectful care to older adults and those with cognitive impairment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and observation skills.
• Ability to follow directions, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to safety and care standards.
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents.
• Reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude in a resident-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, bathing, toileting, mobility, and eating.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment in accordance with care plans and facility procedures.
• Observe residents for changes in condition, behavior, appetite, mobility, or safety concerns and communicate promptly to the team.
• Encourage resident engagement through respectful communication and participation in daily activities.
• Assist with transfers, repositioning, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and safety practices.
• Document care provided and complete tasks accurately and timely.
• Respond calmly to resident needs, including memory loss, confusion, or anxiety.
• Support infection prevention, housekeeping, and other environmental standards.
• Collaborate with nurses, caregivers, and team members to ensure consistent care.
