Job summary

LakeHouse Senior Living is seeking a compassionate nursing assistant to provide direct care to residents in our Indianapolis-area communities. You will monitor, assist, and document residents’ daily needs, ensuring safety and comfort across shifts.

Responsibilities include helping with activities of daily living, reporting changes to supervisors, and maintaining cleanliness. CPR certification and a high school diploma are required, with prior senior-care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified nurse aide certification preferred.
• High School diploma/GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience working with seniors preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for a designated group of residents during the shift and checks on them throughout the shift.
• Observes, reports and documents symptoms and conditions of residents (skin, behavior, alertness, weight, appetite).
• Responds promptly to security system and resident call bells.
• Notifies supervisor/Health Care Coordinator if a resident’s care needs increase.
• Assists with continence management and disposes of products to ensure sanitation.
• Serves and collects food trays; reports refusals of meals or loss of appetite.
• Maintains cleanliness of resident rooms and work areas.
• Practices good hygiene and health precautions.
• Helps residents maintain independence and dignity; ensures physical safety.
• Leads/assists with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating).
• Engages residents in life skills and enrichment activities.
• Greets and assists internal and external customers, guests, family, residents, vendors, and team members.
• Does resident laundry as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
