Job summary

The Variel is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant for its Memory Care program. The role involves developing, planning, scheduling, and conducting activities that address wellness for residents with dementia or mild cognitive impairment.

You will ensure engaging programs and maintain calendars and materials. Ideal candidates have at least two years of activity/life enrichment experience, strong communication skills, and comfort with Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

• Two years’ work experience in activities/life enrichment programs.
• Experience with seniors with dementia preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct programs such as art, entertainment events, brain games for residents.
• Create daily, weekly, and monthly activity calendars.
• Assist with gathering material for memory care newsletter.
• Maintain supply of activity materials and games.
• Lead residents on how to use technology and train staff on activities.
• Train staff on activity-related programs.
• Continuously adapt and grow the activity program.
• Generate new ideas for Mezzanine residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
