Job summary

Sterling Healthcare Management, LLC is seeking an energetic Activity Aide to enhance the lives of residents in our Indiana facility. You will plan and lead group activities, support special events, and build meaningful relationships with residents who call our home.

This full-time role runs in the afternoons/evenings (start at 2 p.m., end at 8:30 p.m.), with opportunities to engage residents through creative programs and community interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Prior experience working with elderly or memory care populations is preferred.
• CNA is preferred but not required; focus is on warmth, patience, and engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with group activities such as arts & crafts, music, games, and exercises for residents on the Dementia Unit.
• Provide one‑on‑one activities for residents who cannot attend group programs.
• Adapt activities for residents with dementia, memory impairment, or physical limitations.
• Set up, facilitate, and clean up activity spaces before and after each program.
• Assist with special events, holiday celebrations, and themed dining programs.
• Decorate the facility for seasons and holidays to create a warm environment.
• Document resident participation accurately in the activity record.
• Escort residents to and from activity programs safely.
• Support volunteers and community visitors during programs.
• Report any resident behavioral changes or concerns to the nurse.
