Sterling Healthcare Management, LLC is seeking an energetic Activity Aide to plan and lead group and individual activities for residents, with a focus on dementia care on our unit.

You will support special events, decorate spaces for seasons, document participation, and assist with transitions to activities. The role is afternoons/evenings, with no weekend work, and requires a warm, patient, and creative approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience working with elderly or memory care populations.
• Certified Nurse Assistant, preferred but NOT required.
• Afternoon/Evening shift, start by 2 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m., no weekend work.
• Ability to engage with residents and create a warm environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead group activities including arts and crafts, music, games, and exercise for Dementia Unit.
• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who cannot attend group programs.
• Adapt activities for residents with dementia or memory impairment.
• Set up, facilitate, and clean up activity spaces before and after each program.
• Assist with special events, holiday celebrations, and themed dining programs.
• Decorate the facility for seasons and holidays to create a warm environment.
• Document resident participation accurately in the activity record.
• Escort and assist residents to and from activity programs safely.
• Support volunteers and community visitors during programs.
• Report any resident behavioral changes or concerns to the nurse.
