Job summary

Sterling Healthcare Management is seeking an Activity Aide to bring joy and connection to residents. You will plan and lead group activities, support events, and build meaningful relationships on our Dementia Unit.

The role requires a warm, patient, and enthusiastic personality with prior elder care experience. This is an afternoon/evening position, starting at 2 p.m. and ending at 8:30 p.m., with no weekend work. CNA preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience with elderly or memory care populations.
• CNA certification preferred but not required.
• Warm, patient, and enthusiastic personality.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with group activities including arts and crafts, music, games, and exercise programs for residents on our Dementia Unit.
• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who cannot attend group programs.
• Adapt activities for residents with dementia, memory impairment, or physical limitations.
• Set up, facilitate, and clean up activity spaces before and after each program.
• Assist with special events, holiday celebrations, and themed dining programs.
• Decorate the facility for seasons and holidays to create a warm environment.
• Document resident participation accurately in the activity record.
• Escort and assist residents to and from activity programs safely.
• Support volunteers and community visitors during programs.
• Report any resident behavioral changes or concerns to the nurse.

• Creative, energetic, and able to engage with others
• This is an Afternoon/Evening position - no exceptions will be made. Start by 2 p.m. and end at 830 p.m. No Weekend Work Required
• Previous experience doing activities with older adults preferred.
