Job summary

Sterling Healthcare Management, LLC is seeking an energetic Activity Aide to brighten daily life for residents in our facility. You will plan and lead group activities, support special events, and build relationships with residents and families.

Responsibilities include adapting activities for memory care, assisting with dementia units, documenting participation, and coordinating with the care team. Evening shift starts at 2 p.m. and ends by 8:30 p.m., with no weekend work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience working with elderly or memory care populations.
• Certified Nurse Assistant, preferred but NOT required.

• Lead and assist with group activities including arts and crafts, music, games, and exercise programs for residents on our Dementia Unit.
• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who cannot attend group programs.
• Adapt activities for residents with dementia, memory impairment, or physical limitations.
• Set up, facilitate, and clean up activity spaces before and after each program.
• Assist with special events, holiday celebrations and themed dining programs.
• Decorate the facility for seasons and holidays to create a warm environment.
• Document resident participation accurately in the activity record.
• Escort and assist residents to and from activity programs safely.
• Support volunteers and community visitors during programs.
• Report any resident behavioral changes or concerns to the nurse.

Requirements

• Creative, energetic, and able to engage with others
• This is an Afternoon/Evening position - no exceptions will be made. Start by 2 p.m. and end at 830 p.m. No Weekend Work Required
• Previous experience doing activities with older adults preferred.
